The KVD is a modulating pressure regulator. It opens when the collector pressure starts dropping to introduce hot gas via a bypass in order to maintain the set pressure (adjustable) in the collector. KVD and KVR forms a control system for maintaining sufficient and constant condensing and collector pressures in heat recovery systems as well as refrigeration and air conditioning systems using air-cooled condensers.
